Industrial Committee

Mandate

To provide a forum for local industry to explore and find solutions to, the challenges at hand in the industrial manufacturing community.

Aims and Objectives

  • To address challenges facing the local industrial and manufacturing community, which might include new legislation, business, safety issues and others
  • To address issues relating to improving competitiveness of industrial businesses, including workforce, supply chain, and the cost of doing business
  • To provide input to the educational institutions of the training needs for industry
  • To work with government agencies focused on introducing innovation to the marketplace via incentive programs
  • To provide input to the Workplace Development Committee and the Advocacy Committee on topics relating to the manufacturing industry in Guelph

Committee Structure

A GCC member that is approved and appointed by the Executive Committee, for a one-year term commencing July 1st, will chair the Industrial Committee.  The Industrial Committee shall consist of 8 to 15 members, and the term of the industrial committee members is two years.  A vice-chair will serve on the committee as the Committee Chairperson Elect, and will be selected from past committee members.
