Agri-Food Trailblazer & Leader in Canadian Cuisine to Address ‘Inspirational Women’ Luncheon
“The Inspirational Women luncheon is an integral and proven component of the Guelph Chamber’s efforts to showcase and help build leadership among women across Guelph through inspiring stories that cultivate success,” says Kithio Mwanzia, President & CEO of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce. “Hosting Anita Stewart offers a fantastic opportunity for our community to hear how a trailblazer has actively promoted the growth and study of our distinctly Canadian food culture,” adds Mwanzia.
Anita’s inspiring work has propelled her onto many global stages including her annual adventure with a team of top Canadian chefs in New York City wowing the members of the James Beard House in Manhattan with the real Canadian culinary experience. At the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver she and her chefs created a breakfast for the Minister of Agriculture and at the World's Fair in Hanover, Germany, her 'Canadian' menu ran through the duration. Anita defined the term 'Canadian culinary tourism' while it was still an oxymoron and was on the senior team of consultants which wrote a Culinary Tourism Strategy for the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Recreation. She is a lifetime member of the Canadian Culinary Federation of Chefs and Cooks.
“Anita’s experience as a leader in agri-food and Canadian cuisine highlights the value of perseverance in pursuit of achievement,” adds Mwanzia. “We’re hoping that Anita’s spirit of ingenuity will inspire our business community to reach higher and further.”
The ‘Inspirational Women’ luncheon takes place February 23, 2017 at Delta Guelph Hotel & Conference Centre, from 11:30am to 1:30pm. To register, click here.
