‘Guelph, Our Gift to Canada’ Book to Celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation
“As an iconic community in Canada, the opportunity to tell the story of our great community through the lens of incredible companies and institutions is an important priority for the Chamber of Commerce,” says Kithio Mwanzia, President & CEO, Guelph Chamber of Commerce. “When we saw the success and exposure to the world of other jurisdictions who have successfully completed similar projects, we knew it was time to showcase our city,” adds Mwanzia.
Binea Press has published numerous books for colleges, universities, and municipalities throughout Ontario. Included in its portfolio is Stratford with foreword by Christopher Plummer, Our London with foreword by Heather Hiscox, The Thames with foreword by Lloyd Robertson and McMaster University with foreword by Martin Short. The Chamber will be inviting iconic local companies and institutions to partner on the project, helping showcase the city.
“Of all the projects that I have been involved with, Guelph and the surrounding area is absolutely the most beautiful, diverse and challenging. From its wonderful historic architecture to its global research and innovation, this project will produce an incredible collection of images and a gift book that residents and visitors alike will be very proud of,” says Richard Bain, Binea Press. “Since December, I have been photographing the city and it has been exciting to see so much iconic Canadian imagery right here in Guelph,” Concludes Bain.
Upon publication this fall, the book will be available through the Guelph Chamber as well as bookstores throughout Ontario.
