The Ontario Business Community Supporting COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution
As we move towards the end of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic by vaccinating as many Ontarians as possible, we realize how much faster it can be accomplished with a public-private partnership.
The Ontario Vaccination Support Council’s (OVSC) online portal connects Ontario's public health units with private sector organizations, universities, colleges, associations and labour unions offering local support. The portal will allow for two-way communication between the private sector and public health units so that the businesses can volunteer time or resources to the province’s vaccination efforts. It will also serve as a resource to the general public by providing links to key public health information and resources.
Founded by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, the Council is co-chaired by James Scongack, Executive-Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Operational Services at Bruce Power and Garrick Tiplady, the Managing Director of Facebook Canada. The Council leverages over 250 organizations from across the province to provide support for Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccination effort with the ultimate goal of ending the pandemic.
Organizations can offer volunteer support to Public Health units and offer workplaces as vaccination sites on this portal.
