Bringing our community together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership
Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph envisions a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. To achieve this vision, the organization partners with the community to build homes that provide the foundation for bright, stable and empowered futures for the families and individuals who live there.
Did you know…
- Habitat provides a hand-up into homeownership, not a hand First-time homebuyers work alongside Habitat to build the houses that they will soon call home. Partner families also work with Habitat in the ReStore, in the office and more. In the Habitat model, this work is referred to as “sweat equity” and is defined as the new homeowner investing in their home or one for another family. It’s not a form of payment, but an opportunity to work alongside volunteers who give their time to bring to life a family’s dream of owning a home.
- Habitat relies on people like you and organizations like yours to continue building affordable housing that will help break the cycle of poverty. Contact email@example.com to learn more.
- Habitat offers the community an abundance of ways to help. Volunteer opportunities range from working a shift in our ReStore to salvaging a kitchen to building a home in our city. Donations vary, too! Habitat looks for support in the form of donations to the ReStore, monthly donations through their Hearts for Homes campaign, and attendance at our events.
