Guelph Community Gets a Boost on Lifelong Learning through Chamber Membership Discount

(Guelph, July 7, 2023) – The Guelph Chamber of Commerce and Open Learning and Educational Support (OpenEd) have joined together in a new partnership that provides Chamber members with an exclusive discount on continuing education and micro-credential courses and programs at the University of Guelph (U of G).

Beginning this July, Chamber members can take advantage of a 10% discount on a wide selection of courses to fulfill both upskilling and reskilling, and special interest goals. There is a wide range of subject matter to choose from, including programs in the following areas of interest:

• Couple and Family Therapy Studies
• Creative Writing
• Facilities Management
• Horticulture
• Human Resources Management
• Knowledge Mobilization
• Plant-Based Nutrition
• School Business Operations

“Our members will benefit from our long-time partnership with the University of Guelph and OpenEd to receive an exclusive discount on their OpenEd programming,” says Shakiba Shayani, President and CEO of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce. “We hope our members will use this opportunity to upskill, stay competitive, and continue to foster a learning culture in their organizations.”

Taught by industry professionals with years of real-world experience, OpenEd’s courses and programs are intentionally designed with flexibility in mind. Learners can choose from a variety of course delivery formats that are compatible with their professional and personal obligations—such as fully-online, blended, and in-person instruction.
