Scott McRoberts to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

On June 27, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce will join leaders in business, government and community to celebrate the achievements of outstanding local businesses, organizations and individuals at the 2019 Guelph Awards of Excellence Gala. Scott McRoberts, Director of Athletics at the University of Guelph will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Guelph Chamber of Commerce at the event.

“Scott McRoberts’ vision and leadership in our community is a true example of what the Lifetime Achievement award epitomizes,” says Amy Kendall, Interim President & CEO of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce. “Scott’s proven ability to integrate student and community engagement with athletic excellence over the course of his career shows the drive for passion in his work. A leader at the university and a committed volunteer in our community, Scott has inspired countless students and community leaders alike, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to honour Scott through this award.”  

In addition to awarding the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Guelph Chamber will present awards in several other categories as part of the 2019 Chamber Business Awards.

“Each of these finalists exemplify excellence and play an important role in working towards our commitment to building a smarter, more caring and prosperous community,” said Amy Kendall, Interim President & CEO of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce.

A scholarship will also be awarded to a graduating high school student entering the skilled trades in the fall through the Millennium Scholarship Fund.

This year’s Guelph Awards of Excellence Gala will take place on June 27 at the Grand Guelph Banquet & Events Centre. This event will present awards including The Mayor’s Awards;Downtown Volunteer of the Year Award; Guelph and Wellington Branch ACO Heritage Awards; Chamber Business Awards; United Way of Guelph Wellington Dufferin Campaign Awards; and Innovation Guelph Awards.
